Hinoka to Elise (Twinning)

Hinoka, the boyish princess of Hoshido, went on another mission to fight Nohr and bring her brother back from them. The Nohrian Army on the other side of the battlefield was led by the Nohrian Princess, Elise. Elise was seemingly a girly and fragile girl, but with a strong will to protect her brother, the same person Hinoka tried to bring back.

The battle was fierce and long, but Nohr seemingly had the upper hand. An archer had shot down Hinokas Pegasus, but bound to the ground she still tried her best to fend of the attacking enemies with her naginata until Elise herself approached the heavily injured girl.

“You won! Now kill me”, Hinoka yelled, but Elise just looked back a bit frightened but mostly with compassion.
“Stop looking at me like that, I don’t fall for that, demon!”
“You’re older than me, but you are still just a girl.”
“Don’t call me girl and end me!

“I won’t do that”
“So you won’t even grant me an honorable death, should be expected of a Nohrian”
“I really hate you, because you are trying to steal my brother from me, but still, I can’t kill you. Go back to Hoshido and tell them to surrender”
Hinoka looked up with a face full of disgust
“You think I can walk back there, after I tried a rescue mission all by myself and lost large parts of our troops? It’s so close to treason… I’m going to die, if not by your hands, it’s by the hands of my family.”
“Then…just hide somewhere… start a new life!”
“They would search for me and I know how your father would show them my corpse just to show his power… I can’t… just don’t make me beg for death and kill me”
“W-why do you go to such lengths? Just because of your brother? Big bro spent his life with us… he is a Nohrian, through and through.”
“But still, I had to try… I had hope I could talk some sense…. Why am I even telling you that, you’re just nohrian scum… urgh”  Hinoka said and her body collapsed.

“It’s really weird… but I understand that you want to see him, I probably would do the same. I will bring you to him…”
“You… what?!”, Hinoka said, trying to lift her head from the ground.
“Wait…” Elise said, jumped from her horse.
“What are you…”
“Don’t speak, I’m going to heal some of your wounds”
“Urgh..”

After a few minutes, Hinoka was lying on her back in the gras with Elise kneeling next to her.
“Why, why should I trust you?” asked Hinoka.
“If I wanted to kill you, I wouldn’t have healed you…”
“No, you still could torture me to get information”
“Gah! You just have to trust me!”, Elise yelled slightly annoyed with Hinoka looking back slightly startled.
“O-okay, then please take me to my brother.”
“Good, and you’re lucky, father isn’t there right now… and sorry, I still don’t trust you, so you will leave your weapons here”

So, Elise rode back to Nohr with the still exhausted Hinoka sitting on her back. Arriving in Nohr, Hinoka felt weird, the city of Nohr was quiet with strange architecture. Surprisingly they could get into the palace easily as the king was in a battle elsewhere with Elise’s brothers and sisters. Elise closed the door to her room and let out a deep breath.

“So… that’s done, I really hope, big bro is here, he should be”
“You’re not sure if he is here?!”, Hinoka asked annoyed.
“Well he said he would go back to Nohr, so I suspected him to be here. Please wait a moment”, Elise said and left the room.
Hinoka heard the lock clicking.
“So I AM a prisoner…”, she mumbled.

She looked around in the room, a lot of black walls, typical for Nohr, but in this room, everything had a slight pink touch. After waiting a while on the bed she opened the big wardrobe and she saw Elise’s dress, but multiple times and some comfortable sleep wear. “She only has this one outfit?! Nohr is a strange place…”, Hinoka wondered when the door unlocked.

“I really am sorry, he isn’t here…”, Elise started, closing the door behind her and then looking up at Hinoka, still standing in front of the wardrobe.
“Oh, I didn’t suspect you to be that nosy”, Elise said with a grin.
“I-I just wanted to check my environment, I’ve never been to Nohr”
“Well, understandable… anything catching your interest?”
“Uhm… why do you have the same outfit multiple times?”
“It’s cute, isn’t it? I designed it myself and was very proud of it and was scared to ruin it, so I made sure to have a lot of sets… Maybe I should design a new one.
“This is pretty weird, but I under… wait, what about Corrin?!”
“Oh yeah… he seems to have left recently…”
“And what am I supposed to do now?! Wait here for the guards to find me?!”
“Well, yes. Nobody enters our rooms, so you’re safe until he returns.”
“But…”
“You don’t have any choice, if you walk around outside, you get killed within seconds.”
Hinoka let herself fall onto the bed and sat there with a shocked expression.
“Now I’m really stuck in Nohr… when does he come back?”
“He went to support my siblings in a battle. But I don’t know anything further.”
“Oh no…”
“I’m stuck here too, you know. I can’t leave with you being here...”
Hinoka said nothing, and just sat on the bed, thinking about her options.
“I know, how about a bath? I can get one prepared for you.”
Hinoka just nodded and waited.

After what felt like an eternity, the bath was ready and Hinoka could go into an adjoining room with a big bathtub behind a room divider. She undressed and left her dirty and soaked clothes lying on the ground and slowly stepped into the hot water.

After a few minutes of relaxation, the door to the room opened.
“Hey, sorry to barge in… Oh, clothes on the ground…”
“Oh, yeah, sorry about that.”
“I wanted to talk about just that… These clothes look like typical Hoshidan clothes… there is no chance to get them clean without someone noticing them.”
“I… never thought about that, that might be a problem if Corrin takes longer”
“Exactly, so… I’m sorry, but I’m going to burn them.”
“WHAT?!”
“I can’t have them lying in here, too. And bringing a bucket to clean them or something like that would be suspicious.

“So you expect me to run around naked?”
“No! But… You’re nearly the same height as me and might fit my clothes, so I put one set here for you to put on.”
“Y..you want me to dress in this Nohrian and first of all overly girlish garments?”
“I can’t do anything about that, really!”, Elise screamed with her leaving the room.
“… One day in Nohr and I am already dressing up as a princess, what did I get myself into.”

After exceedingly stretched bathing time, Hinoka stepped out of the bath and looked behind the room divider where she had left her clothing. It was gone of course and instead, an identical outfit to the one of Elise was hanging there. With a sigh, Hinoka started to put on the undergarments. Then she put on a really short black skirt with a pink line.
“This is so riciculous…”
Next, she put on a white top with two golden buttons in the breast-area and long black puffy sleeves. The attached belt with its golden rings was a little problem, but could be buckled after a little while.
“This is… really tight… I’m not sure if it’s because I’m too big for her clothes or Nohrian clothes are supposed to be this way…”
She reluctantly stepped into heeled black boots, that went over her knees, they had a pink line, similar to her skirt with pink bands going down that ended in cute pink bows at the sides of her ankle and thighs.
“Whow!”, she almost screamed and wiggled her arms trying to keep her balance, “I have never worn things like this… I hope Corrin doesn’t need too long…”
There were also matching gloves to her sleeves.
“I don’t really need to wear those indoors… but I should at least see if they fit”, Hinoka said and put them on.
The last thing that was left, was a short black cape that was bound by the neck with a big pink bow that had a white rose in the middle.
“That might be a bit too much… I just don’t want to run around naked.”, Hinoka said, grabbed it, and moved to the door.

Elise was sitting at her window, staring into the dark city of Nohr when Hinoka came out of the bathroom.
“Ooh wow! You look fantastic, I didn’t expect it to fit you that good.”
“Uhm, thank you…”, Hinoka said, blushing a little.
“But you’re not wearing the cape…”
“Yeah, you see, it’s not….”
“No problem, I can help you with that!”, Elise said happily, walked to Hinoka and tied the cape around her neck with the bow.
“Tadaaa! Now you look so cute!”
Hinoka was looking annoyed at Elise.

“It feels really weird, is this really how you walk around all the time? It’s a bit too much, if you ask me.”
“It’s not, it’s just right! If you are cute, you have to show that”

“But I’m not…”
“You are cute! Just look at yourself, I could cuddle you all day!”
“If I think, that just recently we were fighting each other and now I’m standing here, dressed exactly like you.”
“You would make a good Nohrian princess”
“Stop saying that, I’m dressed like a Nohrian, but I still hate all of you!”
“I would show you the great places of Nohr, but you still can’t just run around free”
“I know that! But what happens after I had my talk with Corrin”
“I’ll let him decide, what’s going to happen to you, I don’t think, he’s going to kill you or something like that, he’s not that kind of person.”
“I wish I could have been a sister to him, like you were.”
“Right now, you’re really close to being like me”, Elise giggled.
“Stop it!”, Hinoka said with a blushing face.
“Oh, Princess Elise seems to be feisty today!”, Elise said with a grin.
“This was all a mistake… You might have guessed already, but I am not so much into that princess thing, being a princess myself”
“Then look at this as a chance to feel cute with a positive outlook until Corrin comes back!”
“Oh no, he’s going to see me like this!”
“He is, and it is nothing to be embarrassed about!”
“I’m not so sure about that…”

1 Month later

Hinoka was walking around in Elises room. Hinoka let herself fall onto the bed and let out a long breath.
“What is she doing this time…”
She looked to the door, then back to the roof and let out another breath.
“Big bro, where are you… Gah, called him big bro again, Ellie is really rubbing off on me…
Everything she told me about him, they really have a close bond and she is such a cute and honest girl, how can I compete with that?”

She looked down on herself, started plucking on her skirt and smiled. When Hinoka started living with Elise, she only reluctantly wore the outfit, but she started to really like it, she felt really cute wearing it. Maybe Elise was at fault for that, telling her how cute she is multiple times a day. With her eyes closed, she started to play out one of Elise’s stories in her head, with her as Elise. Then she looked down on herself again…
“I might just be her…
Big bro…”, Hinoka giggled.

 Then the door opened and Elise just came back with some food.

“I’ve put everything on this one plate this time, but they still watch me like I’m a glutton…” Elise said with a pout.
“Oh! So you aren’t one?”, Hinoka said with a grin.
“Of course not!”, Elise yelled and Hinoka started giggling with Elise joining in.
“You really started to get yourself comfortable with this situation”
“Yeah, it’s not really that bad... I just wish I could go out, I already feel my muscles shrinking… I need to train!”
“After last week, no training in my room”
“Ellie!! Come on! Pleeeease”
“You broke my mirror!”
“Hmph…”, pouted Hinoka.
“It’s not that bad, you know, who needs muscles anyway, they’re not cute!”
“But how am I supposed to be any help to Corrin, when he comes back”
“You can help big bro in multiple ways!... Hm, I have an idea”, Elise said and walked to the shelf with the books. And pulled out 5 of them.
“How are books supposed to keep me fit?”
“They aren’t supposed to give you muscles, but you can learn magic from them”
“Reading is soooo boring?”
“But it’s a safe way to train…”
“Well, burning my enemies might work too…”
“About that… these are only books about healing”
“Healing?!”, Hinoka let herself fall back onto the bed again.
“Healing is the best help you can be in a battle!”
“It doesn’t help defeat the enemy!”
“It keeps the people alive who are fighting, so yes, it helps”
“Gah… fine!” Hinoka said and grabbed one of the books, “Can I at least borrow your staff?”
“As long as you stop swinging it around like a sword”
“I’ll remember that”


5 months later

“Yay, this was a good healing spell” Elise said applauding, but at the same time she had a worried expression.
“You really think I could be useful like this?”
“Of course, you’ve learned great and your healing magic seems to be really good, maybe nearly as good as mine!”
“Thank you sis, I’m really looking forward to seeing big bro again!”, Hinoka said jumping into the air full of joy.
“You know, sometimes it still amazes me how different you are to back then.”
“I am? I stopped my physical training, isn’t that it?”
“Well, you calling big bro “big bro” and me sis… 6 months ago you would have slapped yourself”
“He is taller than me, so he is a big bro and you being his sister are my sister too.”
“Your hair, attitude and expression changed too”
“I don’t really feel that different.”
Elise grabbed Hinoka and pulled her in front of the mirror.

Hinoka looked into the mirror. She had started to let her hair grow out but other than that she saw nothing wrong.
“You’re far from the strong Sky Knight”
“That’s because I’m more of a cleric now”, Hinoka smiled.
“But is that what you really want?”
“Of course it is, with my healing spells I can help those who really need help.”
“But you fighting with a naginata was so important to you.”
“I read so many books while I’m here, not only the ones about healing… people hurt each other all the time, I was so wrong, I even found some fun in fighting Nohrian troops.”
“You just… you don’t understand”, Elise said annoyed and turned away, “I’m going to take a bath”
“Really good idea, I’m going after you.”

Elise let herself sink into the water and made bubbles with her mouth.
“Is it really that easy for someone to change that much in such a short time?”, she mumbled to herself ,”Showing sis… I mean Hinoka… healing magic might have been wrong, it’s not that her being different is a problem, it’s just… frightening.“
“It’s like I did that…I didn’t want her to lose herself… I… might have just to ask her.”

When Elise came back, Hinoka was reading a book again and giggling.
“Ah perfect, my turn!”, Hinoka said and began skipping to the door.
“Wait a moment…”
“Hm?”
“I just have to ask you… are you trying to become… me?”
Hinoka looked at her with a worried expression.
“I… I… no, sis, I want to be close to you, not you!”
“What do you mean by that”
“You… you are so nice and help everyone and you are so cute… so I wondered… if I could be like that too.”
“But just like me?”
“We’re wearing the same clothes, spending all the time together, doing the same things… It feels like we are twins… I never had anyone that close to me, not even my sister from back then… Sakura”
“It’s not that I don’t want you to do this, you know”
“I know, but every time I do something you do, or something you like, I feel like I’m getting closer to know my big brother”
“This is all a roleplay then?”
“No, of course not!”
“Okay, what do you think of Nohr?”
“It’s the land I’m currently living in.”
“Yeah, but how do you feel about it, what do you feel, when you look out of the window”
“I… I think of all these people in the city, ill and poor… I want to help them”
She has the same thoughts I have… but I never told her that I help these people…
“That’s the same thing I think”
“Really?!”, asked Hinoka with her eyes glowing.
“I guess that happens, when you are around me and do all the same stuff, I always did… you really are more like a twin now”
“Aren’t you happy about that?”
“I always wanted a twin sister, but I never knew that it would happen like this.”
“Oh Ellie!”, Hinoka said, grabbed Elise and squeezed her.
“Alright Hinoka… I mean, sis, I’ll help you being the perfect twin sister!”
“Wait! I can’t call myself Hinoka anymore.”
“Why?”, Elise wondered.
“It’s so different from your name… How about… Elina”
“Elina… It’s a bit weird but okay, let’s have fun”

12 months later

Elise and Elina have met the returning Corring 6 months ago. Elina introduced herself as his little sister, Elina and wouldn’t tell him anything from before.
“Well big bro, the past is the past… so just let your little sisters help you from now on.”
He wanted to change Nohr, but didn’t know that some part of his family already had its own change there.
